Contacted All the FIFA World Cup Commemorative Stations !

3-5 May 2002
I contacted all the 2002 FIFA World Cup commemorative stations in Japan. Unique callsigns, 8M1C, 8N1C, 8J1C, 8J2C, 8N3C, 8J3C, 8J6C, 8J7C, 8J8C and 8J0C have been issued for special event stations to be established to commemorate the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan(TM). These ten stations are on the air from May 1 to June 30, 2002 and will be operated by local hams with the support of the JARL..

Contacted KH1(Worked 170 Entities) !

3-5 May 2002
I contacted K1B which was the DXpedition station from KH1, Baker & Howland Is. thirteen times as follows.
* 10m CW, SSB,FM
* 12m CW, SSB
* 15m CW, SSB
* 17m CW, SSB
* 20m CW, SSB
* 30m CW
* 40m CW
This DXpedition was operated by YT1AD and his company. Their operation technique was very excellent !

Participated in WPX Test (Phone) and Contacted PJ2 & YV !

30-31 Mar. 2002
Total number of contacts was about 350 and new entity was YV(Venezuela) only.
But I contacted W,VE,KH6,KL7,LU and OA on 40m band.
I was amazed I could communicated them on this band by using small whip antenna.

Contacted CE0/X and VP6/D !

22- 23 Mar 2002
I contacted XR0X which was the DXpedition station from San Felix Is. on 12m and 17m SSB and VP6DI, DXpedition station from Ducie Island on 15m SSB.
As VP6DI was the first operation from Ducie Island after it was approved as a newly DXCC entity by the ARRL on November 16, 2001, lots of stations called them.
I called more than 1hour and half, but finally I got it by 14KHzUP split operation.

Contacted Five US Stations on 80m !

16 Feb. 2002
I took part in ARRL Contest(CW) and contacted nineteen US and Canadian stations on 40m and five US stations on 80m.
It was the first contact with US station on 80m band. Thank you for their excellent ears and equipment !

Visited HQ of the JARL

I visited the headquarters of the JARL in Sugamo, Tokyo to apply for JARL the 21th Century Award and so on after an interval of thirty years.
(It's not radio operation ! hi )

Contacted Some EU Stations on 40m CW !

13-14 Jan. 2002
I contacted BY,UA0,UN,W,S5,9A,UR and EU on 40m CW in JIDX Contest.
Also I contacted UA0 on 80m CW and this is the first DX QSO on the band.

Contacted 23 Stations in New Year QSO Party !

I participated in the New Year QSO Party 2002 for two hours and half. I enjoyed twenty-three contacts on 2m SSB.

Worked the "21X21 Dream Award"

I worked the "21X21 Dream Award" offered by the JARL .
This award was achieved by collecting twenty-one "the 21th Century Award" by using different bands/modes. Each the 21th Century Award was achieved by working twenty-one stations in 2001.

Contacted T30 & V5 !

17 Dec. 2001
I took Compensatory Day Off for going to work on holiday in October and November. In the morning, I took part in ARRL10m Test but propagation was not good.
After pigeonhole QSL cards, I drove my car to buy paraffin in the evening. I was lucky enough to contact T30 (West Kiribati) and V5 (Namibia) !
In particular, V5HK was called by lots of stations, I was deeply grateful to him !

Took Part in ARRL 10m. A4 & ZF were New Entities !

15-16 Dec. 2001
I participated in ARRL 10m Contest sporadically. Propagation was good, I could hear some Middle East's stations in the afternoon of 15th and contacted A4(Oman),JY(Jordan) and HZ(Saudi Arabia).I also contacted ZF2NT(Cayman Is.) in the morning of 16th.

Contacted 7X on 17m and 12m Band was Good !

In the evening, I found 7X2DG (Algeria) on 17m SSB when I was driving downtown Yokohama. I called him from the spot his signal became strong and succeeded to contact him. After then I contacted five EU stations on 12m SSB.

Contacted 3B8 !

I contacted 3B8 (Mauritius) in the WW-DX Contest (CW).
I heard XT(Burkina Faso),ZD8(Ascension Island) and ZF(Cayman Island) and so on, but I lost battles unfortunately !

Gain 7 Entities & Contacted ZONE34(SU) !

26-28 May 2001
I joined in the WW WPX Contest (CW). Propagation was not so good but I could contact following entities.
3V (Tunisia), 6Y (Jamaica), CO (Cuba), PJ2 (Bonaire,Curacao), SU (Egypt),
TA (Turkey), TI (Costa Rica)

Contacted VQ9 !

3-4 May 2001
I contacted VQ9IO (Chagos Is.) on 15m CW, on 4th, VQ9NL and EM1HO (Antarctica) on 15m SSB.

Worked 150 entities !

16 Apr. 2001
I contacted 8Q7KK(Makdives) on 12m and 15m CW. It was just the 150th entity for me.

Took Part in WW-WPX TEST (Phone)

25-27 Mar. 2001
This world-wide contest was enjoyable for me, from my mobile shack I could contact 280 DX stations from 66 entities.
New entities were CT3 (Medeira Islands), JW (Svalbard), OD (Lebanon) and 4L (Georgia).

I operated from Nanohana-dai (rape blossoms hill) in Hadano city with our club members.
I enjoyed radio operation from 70cm through 6m band.
On the way to Nanohana-dai, I found NP4A(Puerto Rico) on 10m SSB and succeed to contact him at last.

6m Band was Good !

Today, I contacted five VR2(Hong Kong) stations on 6m in succession and BQ9P (Pratas I.) after contact with DU station.

On 24th February, I contacted 3D2CI which was the DXpedition station from Conway Reef on 12m and 15m SSB.
On 25th, I contacted ZD7BG (St.Helena Is.) on 17m SSB and D68C which was the DXpedition station from Comoros on 10m and 12m CW.

Contacted VK on 6m !

Propagation on 6m was very fine ! I contacted three VK stations on this band for the first time.

Participated in New Year QSO Party !

2-3 Jan. 2001
I took part in the New Year QSO Party 2001 and contacted twenty-one stations on 2m SSB. After then I enjoyed some QSO on 15,17 and 20m bands. The first DX station of the new century was T88DX.

Moved House !

I had been busy to moved to another apartment house.
It will be also difficult to set up a radio station at new house, I will continuously enjoy mobile operation !

TZ Called me

I went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and stayed for ten days on business.
Today I went to Nanohana-dai (rape blossoms hill) in Hadano city with company of JH1ZCT.
TZ6JA(Mali) called me on 15m SSB after I contacted our member !! Thank you very much, Obara OM !

Achieved 15,000 Contacts and Worked Millennium DXCC

28-30 Oct. 2000
I took part in the WW-DX Contest (Phone).
FY(French Guiana),ZS(South Africa),HC(Ecuador) and OA(Peru) were new entities for me. I worked 100 entities in 2000 and achieved the ARRL Millennium DXCC Award.

I contacted K5K which was DXpedition station from KH5K(Kingman Reef) on 17m SSB, 15m SSB, 12m SSB and CW.

Good DX season

14-15 Oct. 2000
The WARC Bands QSO Party organized by the JAG (Japan Award Hunters Group) was held and I could contact many stations on 17m band.
In the evening of 15th, I contacted four EU stations on 10m. Good autumn DX season has come !

I watched FJ (Saint Martin) on 10m and CT3 (Mederia Is.) on12m but didn't succeed to contact. I could QSO with England's station on 17m stably, propagation wasn't so bad.
I could contact Inuyama-city on 30m CW, and increase a number of cities for JCC award.

I contacted YJ0AGZ on 15m SSB. I called him for more than 30 minutes and got it finally. Next day, I contacted YL station YJ0AYL on 10m SSB with a first call !

I worked the Millennium 2000 Award sponsored by the CQ ham radio journal and contacted HK5QGX (Colombia) on 12m CW.
